SXSW Entry #8: Leaving Our Mark...

Well folks, that's it for this year's coverage of SXSW. We've sure come a long way. To think, just four days ago, I was under the impression that Austin had the breakfast tacos in the world (THAT'S WHAT YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE SAYING, NEW YORK TIMES!). But...it's over. Luckily, I found this dirty urinal that will forever (or until the health inspector makes his annual visit) immortalize the fun we've had during the past week.

I'd like to thank all the artists, writers, and labels who helped make this week easier for me, including Matias Aguayo, Bomba Estereo, ChocQuibTown, Jeff Weiss, Paul Dryden and Nacional Records, and Kompakt. And of course, thank you to Carlos for allowing me to take over this blog. I'm sure he's scratching at the bit to reclaim his throne.

As for me, I'll be back in a few days (apparently I have to review some big album that came out last Tuesday by some singer...Julia something or other). But I'll be around Austin, so if any of you guys see me, come say "Hi," and we'll go get some elote and a fruit cup. Besos.

A Cazar Tigres... Club Fonograma's 2nd Anniversary

A few months ago we announced (via Twitter) we were going to shutdown Club Fonograma, only to discount the statement after reading hundreds of wonderful comments telling us not to. But we’re glad we didn’t, as we continue with this thing, we found ourselves overwhelmed by the amount of love our blog has received over the last 12 months. And it’s that realization, CF going from a thing to a blog what’s pushing it forward. While we would like to think there’s only a few of you paying attention, we’ve come to comprehend that it’s way more than that. Today is our second anniversary; we have yet to find our purpose on the web and don’t really know where we’re going, but damn, this is fun! We would like to thank some special people that have made another year of Club Fonograma possible (thanks for the love & the RTs), we’ll probably forget a bunch, but you know we love you.

We'll be celebrating our second anniversary this upcoming Monday, with the release of Fonogramaticos Vol.7, in the meantime, we would love a comment.

Al Siguiente Nivel... Club Fonograma's 1st Anniversary

Ok, so this is Club Fonograma’s first anniversary, we don’t have any resources or anything like that to put together something cool for you, but we really hope you have enjoyed our first 12 months in this still very small corner of the music blogosphere. I’m not sure if we’re doing a fine job with this thing, but I’m extremely proud of it, I expected very few things from it and the outcomes have been incredibly warm. I know it’s not thanks-giving, throughout these months we’ve received much love from readers and creative artists alike, and it never hurts to give a shout out to the people that have helped us, inspired us and embraced us during this young stage of fonogramas.
