Cinephile Cine-Files versión 3.0

Cinephile Cine-Files is an annual dossier compiling several film bloggers top 10 lists. Version 3.0 features the most selective group yet. It’s a wonderful, perhaps nerdy publication; but if you even need some sort of guide of what was hot on the big screen in 2009, this is a friendly tool. According to our little movie club, the Mexican documentary Intimiades de Shakespeare y Victor Hugo by newcomer Yulene Olaizola was the most engaging film of the year. Honorable mentions went to A Serious Man, Cinco Dias Sin Nora, Coraline, Fantastic Mr. Fox and Inglorious Basterds.

Just to refresh your memory, these are the best films of 2009 according to yours truly, read my short reviews for each one of them (in Spanish) on the embedded dossier.

Best Movies of the Year So Far.

My favorite movies so far, all U.S. releases, except for the films made in Latin America or Spain, since we don't get too many of them so I go with the Mexican release instead. Even if I'm always complaining how Phoenix sucks for the Latin Alternative scene, we have great art houses for us cinefiles, and being part of the Phoenix Film Society & SOAP doesn't hurt ;)

Best Movies of 2008

It was a cinematic weekend, to extend it even more I'm posting a list of my favorite films of 2008 (I lost count on how many movies I watched, but it's usually around 130 or so), so here is the great chunk of them, which I had posted days ago over at Cine Azteca.

Eligibility: All films released in the U.S. and Latin-American films released in Mexico.
